MOBILE telephone
subscribers may soon heave a sigh of relief over network failure as technology
and services company, Ericsson, has promised to showcase before operators, at
this year’s AfricaCom conference and exhibition holding in South Africa, a
technology that will not only improve network performance but expand their
revenue stream.
Also
visitors to Ericsson's exhibition will meet with subject matter experts who
will help them navigate the future of the networked society as they explore the
following as high performance networks.
A
statement from the comoany said that at AfricaCom, Ericsson will demo the Radio
Dot System highlighting how operators can grow their enterprise business with
an innovative in-building architecture that delivers high-performance mobile coverage.
Head
of Region Sub-Saharan Africa, Ericsson, Fredrik
Jejdling will deliver a keynote presentation on shifting to a data-focused
strategy while Head of Engagement Practices for Mobile Broadband, Hans Piet,
will speak at a master class on delivering broadband to Africa even as Head of
Government and Industry Relations,
Shiletsi Makhofane will join a panel in discussing how to increase
coverage cost-effectively in remote areas.
The
statement noted that research has showed that by 2050, cities, which only
account for one percent of the total area of the planet, will hold 70 percent
of the world's population; operators are keen to upgrade and maintain the integrity
of their networks to support the growing pressure.
Ericsson
will also be showcasing how operators in sub-Saharan Africa can stay ahead of
this rising push for new ways of innovating, collaborating and socializing with
models and demos of solutions such as the City Site solution, Zero Site and the
Capsule Site amidst various other network performance enhancing demos.
At
the exhibition, there will be a demonstration of LTE Broadcast for Digital
Signage which allows mobile operators to deliver advertising or entertainment
to a broad number of screens cost-effectively, enabling real-time dynamic
updates of billboards, taxi and elevator
screens,
and public venue display.
Ericsson
will also show how it is enabling TV Anywhere by revolutionizing Pay TV with a
fresh, dynamic, visually-rich consumer experience that is intuitive and
consistent across all screens, with significant cost and operational
efficiencies.
In
an increasingly Networked Society in which almost everyone and everything is
connected, network operators are under mounting pressure to maintain quality of
service, differentiate themselves from the competition and promote end-user
loyalty. Front runners in the telecommunications industries are highly aware
that improving the users' customer experience is key to securing user loyalty
in today's hypercompetitive market environment. Operators can meet these challenges
by entering into managed services partnerships with experts that assume
responsibility for activities such as designing, building, operating and
managing day-to-day network operations.
Ericsson
will showcase how the experience-centric managed services model, aligns service
delivery with the operator's strategic and business objectives securing a customer
experience-centric operation that proactively drives business innovation. We
will also highlight how operators can get actionable, real-time insights from
big data to better understand customers and improve their experiences by
blending crucial domain expertise with a best-in-class big data analytics
platform.
